Summary:

Becker & Frondorf is an independent cost estimating firm seeking a Conceptual Cost Estimator to join our estimating team. The candidate will be responsible for developing conceptual and detailed cost estimates for a variety of projects across all phases of design. This position requires a strong understanding of building systems, construction methods, and current market trends.
The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and client service.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop conceptual, schematic, design development, and detailed construction document cost estimates.
Perform quantity take-offs and pricing across all CSI construction divisions, including sitework, structural, architectural, and MEP systems.
Analyze drawings, narratives, and specifications to determine project scope, assumptions, and cost risks.
Provide estimate revisions, value engineering options, and cost-savings alternatives.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
3-5 years of architecture or and/or building system experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with cost estimating software.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Positive attitude, client-focused, and strong attention to detail.
Ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines.

Preferred Experience:

Experience with Togal.AI takeoff software.
Experience with independent cost estimating.
Professional certifications (ASPE, LEED, AIA, etc.).
