Summary:
Becker & Frondorf, an independent cost estimating and owner's representative firm is seeking a Senior Cost Estimator with strong conceptual estimating experience to join our team.
This role is for an estimator who is strong on the technical side and interested in growing with the firm. You will develop conceptual and detailed estimates for a variety of projects across all phases and work directly with clients on active projects.
We are looking for someone analytical and detail-oriented who can manage multiple projects while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and client service. As B&F grows, this role offers room to take on greater responsibility, including opportunities to move into leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop conceptual, schematic, design development, and detailed construction document cost estimates.
- Perform quantity take-offs and pricing across all CSI construction divisions, including sitework, structural, architectural, and MEP systems.
- Analyze drawings, narratives, and specifications to determine project scope, assumptions, and cost risks.
- Provide estimate revisions, value engineering options, and cost-savings alternatives.
- Participate in reconciliation with contractors, architects, and engineers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of construction cost estimating experience, including conceptual estimating across multiple design phases.
- Strong understanding of construction costs, complex building systems, and current market conditions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with cost estimating software.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Positive attitude, client-focused, and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with Togal.AI takeoff software.
- Experience with independent cost estimating.
- Professional certifications (ASPE, LEED, AIA, etc.).
