Summary:
Becker & Frondorf is an independent cost estimating firm seeking a Conceptual Senior Cost Estimator to join our estimating team. The candidate will be responsible for developing conceptual and detailed cost estimates for a variety of projects across all phases of design. This position requires a strong understanding of building systems, construction methods, and current market trends.
The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and client service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop conceptual, schematic, design development, and detailed construction document cost estimates.
- Perform quantity take-offs and pricing across all CSI construction divisions, including sitework, structural, architectural, and MEP systems.
- Analyze drawings, narratives, and specifications to determine project scope, assumptions, and cost risks.
- Provide estimate revisions, value engineering options, and cost-savings alternatives.
- Participate in reconciliation with contractors, architects, and engineers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of architecture or and/or building system experience.
- Candidate must demonstrate a strong understanding of construction costs and complex building systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with cost estimating software.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Positive attitude, client-focused, and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with Togal.AI takeoff software.
- Experience with independent cost estimating.
- Professional certifications (ASPE, LEED, AIA, etc.).
